New Astra’s broadness implies both sturdiness and sportiness at the same time, as does the integrated style of the lights, grille, and front bumper. The eagle-eye-shaped headlamps hold the prominent daytime running lights. And the steeply slanted windscreen adds sportiness to the traditional hatchback format.

Inside New Astra, the sweeping lines and wraparound instrument panel create a feeling of roominess. The main surfaces are textured with soft-touch material and high-quality grains, and chrome accents add a technical, modern edge.

You’ll also recognise the Vauxhall blade theme in details like the air vents, door grab handles and steering wheel. And, as you’d expect in a Vauxhall, control elements like the buttons on the centre stack have been practically and thoughtfully placed.

Electronic climate control (ECC) offers a sense of quietness and control and includes individual driver setting memory. Air is charcoal-filtered and both front-seat occupants can choose their preferred temperature separately. Controlled, partial air-recirculation improves heating and cooling performance.
